In 1998, Technitrol Expertise Inc. was renamed Experchem Laboratories Inc. Our name has changed but management has remained constant since 1983.
Mrs. Kovensky established Experchem Laboratories Inc. as a recognized consulting and analytical laboratory in Toronto.
She is responsible for overseeing analysis and technical consulting in the areas of pharmaceuticals, consumer products, environment, foods, and insurance loss investigations.
Under her expert guidance, Experchem has evolved into a well-respected and government-accredited laboratory, specializing in pharmaceutical and regulatory affairs consulting.
Previously, as head of the organic analysis division for Technitrol Canada Ltd., Mrs. Kovensky was involved in all work of an organic nature — foods, drugs, microbiology, environmental concerns and industrial hygiene.
She was also concerned with several media-initiated and privately initiated studies of foods and consumer products. She also worked as a technical consultant to government and the private sector, and in court as an expert witness.
For Mr. Gordon, the Experchem story begins in 1973 when he became general manager of Technitrol Canada. He was pivotal in the growth of Technitrol. His work included the design of various laboratories and the management of a staff of over 100.
In 1983, he planned and carried the amalgamation of two facilities - Technitrol and Eco Research. In 1992, the Ontario branch was opened as Technitrol Expertise and later renamed Experchem Laboratories.
Mr. Gordon has designed and managed petrochemical facilities, physical testing labs, and environmental impact studies. He has constructed numerous types of test apparatus for the sampling and analysis of air, water, soils, metal, and plastics. He has also acted as an expert witness in several litigations.
Mr. Gordon is intimately involved in the day-to-day operation of Experchem Laboratories Inc. and is instrumental in its continued development and success.
Ms. Pilkey joined Experchem in 1994 to establish and coordinate the Quality Control / Quality Assurance department. She has revised and written both the company's Quality Control Manual and standard operating procedures.
Ms. Pilkey is involved with the organization and preparation necessary for compliance with International Standards Organization (ISO) accreditation, and licensing standards under Health Protection Branch (HPB) guidelines.
During the restructuring of the company in 1998, Ms. Pilkey was instrumental in updating quality systems to bring them into compliance with Canadian GMP's (current GMP 01/2004). She plays an important roll in the day-to-day operations that involve the quality of Experchem services.
Ms. Pilkey has been involved in performing chemical analyses and GMP inspections with the HPB and industry since 1981.
Mr. Tran joined Experchem in 1986 as the company's first full-time employee. He has run almost every type of analysis that the company performs and is familiar with almost every piece of equipment.
In particular, he has been instrumental in developing new methods for herbal products, which have recently become regulated through the new Natural Health Products Directorate of Health Canada.
Mr. Tran's experience extends from performing analysis of ores for gold to sophisticated HPLC and GC analyses on pharmaceutical products.
He has been involved in chemical analysis since 1982.
Ms. Vadera joined Experchem in 1997 as a Quality Assurance Supervisor. In 2001, as Microbiology Lab Manager, she became responsible for the operation of Experchem's new microbiological facility, designed to support Experchem's extensive pharmaceutical activities with a wide range of tests.
Ms. Vadera ensures that testing is done in accordance with the clients' specification and that the most up-to-date methodologies are employed. She also implements current standards, and is responsible for the calibration and maintenance of all laboratory equipment.
Involved in the pharmaceutical industry since 1974, Ms. Vadera has extensive experience both in the pharmaceutical industry as well as contract laboratories.
Ms. Plante joined Experchem in 1994 and became involved in the growth of the company in both the laboratory and administrative areas. She is concerned with all aspects of Quality Assurance, including data review, client interaction, and master and batch documentation. She is also involved in method development and research.
Since the restructuring of the company in 1998, Ms. Plante has become the training coordinator of new personnel and co-op students. In this vein, she developed the training and safety manual that is required reading for all Experchem personnel.
Ms. Plante is an HPLC specialist in the analysis of raw materials, finished products and pharmaceuticals.
